In honor of our first 80 degree (predicted – fingers crossed) day here in the Chicago area, this post is dedicated to my blush picks for Spring and Summer. My picks range from the pricier Urban Decay “Flushed” palette, Clinique’s much blogged about “Peach Pop”, Maybelline’s bouncy blush in “Peach Satin” and Milani’s popular “Luminoso”. Though I believe beauty rules are meant to be broken I gravitate towards bright pinks and peaches for warmer weather.
Urban Decay – Flushed: My favorite makeup palette that works well with my minimalist tendencies. Very portable and versatile. Colors can be used individually or blended. I’ve used this on my cheeks and eyes.
Clinique “Peach Pop” – I’m not exaggerating when I say I may end up buying the entire “pop” line of colors. Easy formula to wear and blend. Adorable packaging (which I’m a sucker for). In the past I was never very impressed with Clinique’s line of makeup outside of their bases/foundations. This is changing my mind.
Maybelline Bouncy Blush in “Peach Satin” – Similar color to Peach Pop, but very budget friendly. Color wears very well for a budget blush. Easy to blend on quickly with fingers. Small size makes it easy to throw in one’s bag for touch-ups.
Milani “Luminoso” – Lives up to the drugstore hype. Unlike the others, this has some sheen/luminosity to it. Great as a wash of color for fair skinned folks (I use it instead of bronzers). Works well with my Clinique and Maybelline blushes. If you have a medium/dark complexion this would make a nice highlighter.
